I'm not religious at all but if she wants to expand her viewership and help people in their sex life, I don't think that it helps to put down religious people. Yes, I know the mother looks like a child. My title is taken directly from the original description of the image published almost 110 years ago. Even today, the "Age of Consent" in the Philippines is 12 years old, and during my three short visits there, I talked to at least couple of mothers under the age of 15 while poking around in the market places.
I grew up in an America where a few States also had "Age of Consent" (and marriage, as well) OK at age 12 --- Country & Western singer Loretta Lynn getting married at age 13 being a famous example --- and upon my first arrival in Japan in 1973, discovered that 13 was the "Age of Consent" there as well.
[ During the 1990s, under external pressure from western countries, Japan made quasi-changes to the "13". However, the traditionalist bureaucrat law-makers made sure they left enough loopholes so that it effectively remains 13 for most sexual encounters even today. So there is nothing strange or "primitive" about the Philippines in this regard --- unless you want to call Japan and the USA "primitive" as well, which you are welcome to do.
However, for you horny geezers out there who have a predilection for barely-pubescent girls, I have some news for you --- If you read the above and think, "I'm going to the Philippines RIGHT NOW and get me some of that", be advised that you will have to get past both the Police and the girl's Parents with your less-than-honorable (and probably criminal) seduction of young girls who you have no intention of marrying and raising a family with.
If you are caught seducing any young girl simply for the purpose of a "hit-and-run" sexual encounter, be advised that any "consent" she might have given you will be thoroughly investigated as you wait in a Jail Cell. If any money or alcohol was involved with her "consent", your time in the Jail Cell will be measurably extended.
ON THE OTHER HAND.... One ex-Military guy from my days during the Vietnam War retired to the Philippines and adopted the customs of the people. When he was in his 30's (or perhaps early 40s ?), he courted and married a 14-year-old Filipina with the blessing of the family, and the last I heard, he remained a faithful husband and father to his family.
Hit-and-run sex with a gang-abducted or sexually-trafficked 12 year old girl who has been tossed in a back room of some hidden street in Angeles City is NOT the same as honorably courting the same young women with the blessing of her family.
The Philippines is a highly religious CATHOLIC Nation for the most part, and an older man with a teenage girl is generally not seen as unethical or strange. Get out your Bible and read the story of the formerly married (but still young) RUTH and the elderly BOAZ. I seriously doubt that RUTH was 12 or 13 --- perhaps she was an older teen at the time of her second marriage to BOAZ --- but the lawmakers of such nominally Christian nations with young age-of-consent laws will point to such Biblical passages. This is especially true when those who venerate Mary are constantly reminded that she was probably 13 to 15 when she was betrothed to Joseph, and when she gave birth to Jesus.
Ruth and Mary were NOT the victims of sex-tourists from Rome.
In any case, I suppose there are times between a old man man and a young women, when, if both parties are completely and culturally free from coercion, a real and lasting relationship can develop. Although I personally entertain doubts about some May-December marriages for various reasons --- specifically where men in their 60s, 70s, and 80s start making babies they can't care for --- the Filipina constantly remind me that "age does not matter".
It's a tough social subject to handle, but there it is.
If you are not ready to follow an honorable courtship and family involvement with a 12 to 16-year-old girl who would also have to really like you and give her un-coerced consent from her own desire to be with you, and enjoy her family's blessing on your relationship, I suggest you stay out of the Philippines, and don't pollute their country with your dishonorable presence and ulterior motives.
Places like Thailand and the Philippines already have enough troubles with "sex tourists" from abroad.... they certainly don't need you !
PS. As of 2009, the Philippines is trying to pass a Bill to raise the age of consent from 12 to 16.
