Question by Bob Marley: I'm so depressed and I hate how the world works... help?

I just... hate the world pretty much. I hate how everyone only cares about money, sex, or "beauty" and people will spend millions, or thousands or dollars on plastic surgery when they could have donated it to an actual good cause.

I'm also depressed because whenever I watch a sad movie... I break down for a couple of days. I just watch "We Are The Titans" and I got so depressed about the part where the dude can't walk/play football anymore.

Ugh... I just really hate this cruel, ugly world. No one cares anymore about the real things that matter in life. They pretty much only care about themselves.

How do I cheer myself up? I'm so depressed I feel like killing myself so I won't have to deal with all the negativeness and hate in the world. I don't have many for a therapist and the councelor at my school is a nut-job. (I'm 13 year old Girl BTW)

Honey, that's because the world is a shallow place :( I wouldn't go to the counselor, either. The ones I've known can't even begin to understand teenage girls. For the past year or two I've had this thing... I wouldn't really call it depression, but close. It was simply because I felt disgusted with the way things work. I'd always say that if people like me were in charge of things, the world would be perfect. Of course, that would be true from my point of view. But then I kinda understood that the world is and will likely always be so far from perfect. It was saddening, it was depressing, but it wasn't going to change so I had to accept it. I usually tried to focus on other things.
